Bryan-College Station nonprofit hopes to help more than 60 patients, announced at 21st Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – More than 700 cancer survivors and community members gathered in College Station on Wednesday to honor survivors and talk about breast cancer awareness.

The Pink Alliance’s 21st Annual Surviving & Thriving Luncheon was held at the College Station Hilton Conference Center. This local organization helps low-income breast cancer patients and survivors access care in a variety of ways, whether it’s getting a mammogram, starting treatment or helping with deductibles.

Pink Alliance president Doris Light told KBTX the nonprofit wants to help about 69 patients, and Pink Alliance said it would cost more than $115,000.

“We have helped over a million dollars worth of women so they can get the treatment they need so they can continue to live and live survive and thriveLight said, pointing to lunch.

All money raised will stay here in the Brazos Valley, supporting breast cancer patients.
