A special series of stamps is being issued to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the rock band The Who.

Royal Mail has revealed 12 stamps featuring some of The Who’s popular album covers and photos from their live performances.

Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon formed the band in London in 1964.

Within five years, they went from club performances to starring at the Woodstock festival in the USA and became the biggest box office attraction in the world.

“These stamps celebrate one of the UK’s much-loved and respected musical bands who have enjoyed a global following over six decades.”
