Alec Baldwin’s “Rust” release date

Alec Baldwin’s “Rust” release date

Alec Baldwin’s troubled film Rust received a release date three years after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot dead on the set of the film.

Baldwin, a star and producer, held a gun that discharged while filming a western film near Santa Fe on October 21, 2021. Hutchins, 42, was killed and writer-director Joel Souza was wounded. Baldwin maintained that he was unaware that the gun contained a live round and denied that he pulled the trigger.

The manslaughter case against the actor was dismissed in July, with the judge citing misconduct by the police and prosecutor. But the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, is serving 18 months in prison. A 12-member jury acquitted her of tampering with evidence in connection with charges of supplying cocaine to another crew member, but found her guilty of manslaughter.

RustThe world premiere is scheduled for the Polish Camerimage festival, which honors the work of cinematographers and cinematographers, on November 16–23.

“Almost three years after the tragic death of Halyna Hutchins, a Ukrainian cinematographer who was part of the festival family, Camerimage aims to honor her memory and remind the world of her legacy,” we read in the festival’s press release.

Bianca Cline, the cinematographer who took over from Hutchins last year, said the special screening would pay tribute to the late cinematographer’s “beautiful” work.

“We wanted to do it to honor her and make sure people could see what she was working on,” Cline said. “I think when people see it, they will better understand why we finished it. I think it was presented as some kind of low budget genre film, which it’s not at all. I think it’s a really beautiful movie. This is Halyna’s film. best job.”

Cline said People that Hutchins’ Kiev-based mother, Olga Solovey, and sister, Svetlana Zemko, supported the film’s completion.

“They are very excited,” Cline said. “Hałyna’s mother was probably the greatest master of film. She wanted this to happen because she knew how much it meant to Halina. She told me how excited Halina was to see the film.”

Newsweek reached out to a Baldwin representative via email for comment.

After the screening RustCline will join director Souza and Stephen Lighthill, Hutchins’ mentor at the American Film Institute, to discuss “the unique visual style that Halyna developed on set and explain how Bianca Cline, who took over her work, managed to uniquely recreate Halyna’s style – we read in the press release.

Other topics discussed will include safety on set.

“We all generally recognize that we are in a dangerous situation,” Cline said. “Her death confirmed my belief in how dangerous this phenomenon is. There’s a difference between feeling threatened and feeling like, oh yes, this is very, very dangerous.”

Production on the film was immediately halted after Hutchins’ death. It was later revealed that filming was scheduled to resume in October 2022, with Hutchins’ husband Matthew – who filed a wrongful death lawsuit in February 2022 – serving as an executive producer.

– said Melina Spadone, attorney for Rust Movie Productions, LLC Entertainment tonight during this time, filming will continue with “safety supervisors and union crew members and any use of working weapons or ammunition of any kind will be prohibited.”

The producers also confirmed that the film is shooting Rustwhich resumed production in April 2023, was relocated from New Mexico to the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana.
