Rob Marciano joins CBS News after leaving Good Morning America: Report

Meteorologist Rob Marciano he reportedly lined up a new TV gig six months after his release Good morning America.

Marciano, 56, is expected to join CBS, according to a Monday report in Journalism Oliver Darcy“Status” newsletter.

Neither Marciano nor CBS provided further details of this work. “Nas” weekly. asked for a comment.

Marciano reported the weather for GMA for 10 years, starting in 2014, when he held the position during weekend broadcasts. In September 2023, Marciano converted his weekend shifts to traditional Monday through Friday work hours.

“This month marks the beginning of my 10th year at ABC News, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue this journey with all of you. As a child, I always dreamed of working for this network, and my children are equally excited that now I will spend most weekends at home” – Marciano, who has two children with his ex-wife Erinhe wrote on Instagram at the time. “I will continue to do what I do, I will be on all ABC programs and platforms Monday to Friday and on the weekends I will spend more time with my children. Thank you to the bosses who listened and made work-life balance possible.”

In April, news broke that Marciano had been fired GMA after alleged behavior and anger problems with his colleagues. Neither does ABC, the parent company GMAnor did Marciano comment on the allegations at the time.

“He was nice, but not everyone had that experience with him,” Sharma said People in May. “There were always stories about him about his temperament. No one who has worked with him or witnessed his behavior is surprised by this.”

Another former colleague, however, had a different opinion and anonymously stated that Marciano “always had a positive attitude” in the workplace.

Before his release, Marciano was reportedly banned from entering GMAmain studio in New York. During this time, Marciano continued to contribute to other ABC News programs, including: World news tonight.

Marciano has not publicly addressed the alleged workplace scandal, but he has long had a passion for meteorology. After working on weather forecasts in Louisiana and Oregon, he joined the team that traded the meteorology department for star news Entertainment tonight in 2013. Marciano joined the following year Ginger Zeeweather team at GMA.

“This is where I come from, the weather. I just keep coming back to it,” Marciano said during his finale ET aired in August 2014. “What I Learned Nancy O’Dell and all the amazing journalists in ETit was a phenomenal ride. But weather is my true passion and I need to get back to it.”
