Former child star launches clothing line to mixed reactions: ‘Hollyweird ruined this girl’

Amanda Bynes announced her entry into fashion world through cooperation with the designer Austin Babbitt.

The former child star last Wednesday (October 2), she shared some of the creations she created with Austin, known by his stage name A**pizza, on Instagram.

“It paid off for my co-worker to get her degree in product development from FIDM,” wrote Amanda, who graduated from the California Institute of Fashion Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in 2019.

Items listed on the designer’s website include a graphic tee priced at $60 and a pair of shorts priced at $100. Both elements are available in black and white.

The shorts and T-shirt feature a drawing of a woman with long hair and heart-shaped earrings.

Said by a retired actress People Magazine that she and Austin are “working on putting together a pop-up art show in December” and that it “will feature art and clothing.”

Austin’s creations were previously featured in Kanye West’s pop-up shops as part of the rapper’s Pablo collection, launched ahead of the release of his 2016 album, The Life of Pablo.

The day before her announcement, Amanda posted a photo of a sketch of a woman featured on the website clothes with the words: “You broke my heart.”

Owning a clothing line has been part of Amanda’s plans for many years. In February 2020, she shared a video on Instagram in which she expressed that she “can’t wait” to sell the products she designed.

“I am looking forward to launching my clothing line and hope to have it online in the near future.”

Amanda signed up for FIDM in 2014 after first hearing about it on a reality show Hills and seeing reality star Lauren Conrad taking classes there.

Amanda earlier he was working on a podcast co-hosted with her friend, biochemist Paweł Siemiński, entitled Amanda Bynes and Paul Sieminski: Podcast.
