The sequined eyeliner from Chanel’s PFW show isn’t just chic

Even though Paris Fashion Week has come to an end, the fashion and beauty inspiration that came along with it will forever be etched in fashion week history (and, in my opinion, free of charge). From upside-down fringes at Mugler to powdery white inner corners at Issey Miyake and shimmering peach lids at Rabanne, French fashion houses didn’t disappoint with their hair and makeup looks on the runways – creating looks that everyone will be obsessed with for the rest of the year.

One brand in particular showed off a glam look that is sure to delight beautiful girls this holiday season: at the Chanel Spring-Summer 2025 show, several models stunned in black sequined eyeliner as they walked the runway. It wasn’t glitter or sparkles, but real sequins that were carefully placed along a thick strip of jet black liquid lining.

To achieve this look, Chanel makeup artists used Stylo Yeux waterproof pencil on the upper waterline, then drew a thin, straight line at the base of the upper lashes using Le Liner de Chanel in 512 Noir Profond.

Then, to create a drag effect, a self-adhesive strip of sequins – created by Chanel – was applied to the lining for an ultra-chic shine. The culmination was painting the models’ upper eyelashes with Le Volume de Chanel cream in shade 10 Noir.

For sequin eyeliner to be the star of your shine, the rest of your makeup should be minimal and shiny. During the Chanel show, makeup artists used Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch combined with Le Correcteur de Chanel to create an even base, then applied Joues Contraste Intense in Rose Ardent to the center of the cheeks for a rosy flush. Finally, Baume Essentiel in Transparent added a finish reminiscent of Moo Deng’s glass skin, and Rouge Coco Flash in 54 Boy acted as a barely there pink lip.

Not only is it incredibly practical to wear (I’ll recreate it in a moment), but it’s also a great way to up your makeup look as the holiday season approaches. Ditch the iridescent shadow or shiny lip and let the sequined liner be the star of your face.
