Timothée Chalamet’s 1950s movie wardrobe is my fall fashion inspiration

Let’s take a look at some elegant outfits.

One of the first glimpses of the costumes we saw was Chalamet wearing a navy sweater vest over a wide-collared shirt and wide-legged pleated pants. These structured pants are all the rage right now (The Row had a killer pair this season). Paired with woven brown leather dress shoes and silver-rimmed glasses creates an ultra-chic look.

The same goes for Chalamet’s brown double-breasted suit, which was Just big enough. (Baggy suits are another fashion trend lately; brands like Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent have mastered the style this season.) Chalamet’s classic white shirt and sky blue tie matched the color palette. It has totally inspired me to make an extra effort this fall and commit to dressing for the office; The XXL size gives the impression of being a bit cooler and more nonchalant.

Chalamet’s greatest ensemble, however, is the sophisticated black coat he wore with a shirt, tie, pleated pants and a cheeky little red leather glove. (Are you kidding me with that little pop of color?) It’s somehow sexy. The ties, driving gloves and briefcases may seem old-fashioned – like dusty 1950s staples – but Chalamet’s costumes make a case for bringing them back to the present tense. You can’t deny the elegant, business aesthetic Good. Inspired by his movie wardrobe, maybe fall 2024 will be the season where my career and style take shape – or at least I can look like it.
