DDG Announces Split from Halle Bailey and Claims They’re ‘Still Best Friends’

DDG and Halle Bailey are parting ways. On Thursday evening (October 3), DDG announced that the couple had split with an Instagram post.

“After much reflection and honest conversations, Halle and I have decided that we will each go our separate ways,” he began. “This decision was not easy, but we believe it is the best path for both of us. I treasure the time we spent together and the love we shared.”

The “Moonwalking in Calabasas” rapper and Halle Bailey went public with their relationship in January 2022. They welcomed their son, Halo, in late 2023, and his birth was announced in January.

DDG i The Little Mermaid the star first introduced Halo to the public by sharing photos of her son in July after a trip to Italy.

Despite their split, DDG maintains that they will remain “best friends” and will have plenty of love for each other throughout this journey of co-parenting.

“Despite changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true,” he continued. “We are still best friends and adore each other. By focusing on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we have built and the beautiful moments we have had.”

Back in April, the couple was hit with split rumors when DDG and Halle Bailey allegedly unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted some of their photos together. Ella.

That same month, Halle opened up about the “serious” postpartum depression she experienced as a mother. “I have a hard time being away from my baby for more than 30 minutes before I start to panic,” she said on Snapchat. “When I look at him, I cry because he is so special.”

Most recently, DDG and Halle attended Usher’s Past Present Future Tour together in Los Angeles last week.

The 26-year-old and Bailey are asking fans for their “understanding and support” as they figure out what to do next. “During this transformation, we ask for your understanding and support,” concluded DDG. “Thank you for your love and encouragement.”
