iPhone SE 4 leak reveals potential camera, display and chip specifications

Even though the iPhone 16 series was launched just a few weeks ago, many consumers have their eyes on Apple’s next smartphone. iPhone SE 4 could debut in the spring of 2025, after a complete overhaul that will remove the most noticeable shortcomings of its predecessor. These may include a modern design reminiscent of the iPhone 14, the 2024 Apple A18 chipset, an internal 5G modem and the iPhone 15 camera.

According to 9 to 5MaciPhone SE 4 will be the first to feature Apple’s own 5G chip, which can also support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. This can help improve energy efficiency, especially when the device is in low power mode.

Otherwise, the iPhone SE 4 will reportedly feature the entry-level A18 processor found in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. If so, the upcoming mid-range iPhone will have 8GB RAM and support Apple Intelligence features.

In terms of cameras, the report states that Apple will borrow the 48MP widescreen camera from the iPhone 15 and the 12MP front-facing camera. The device will probably not offer more than one rear lens, but thanks to the increased resolution it will be able to unlock 2x “optical” zoom.

Other than that, the iPhone SE 4 will probably look like the iPhone 14, especially from the front. The device is expected to have a 6.1-inch display with a resolution of 1,170 by 2,532 pixels, a notch for Face ID sensors, thinner frames and no physical home button. This would ultimately phase out the iPhone’s prehistoric design and make the smartphone more appealing to a broader user base.
