Celebrate the spooky season now with these horror games on Xbox Game Pass

October is here, which means it’s time for scary movies, dressing up as your favorite character, and playing horror games. And if you subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll have access to all kinds of games full of demons and monsters that will get you into the Halloween spirit.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate – CNET’s Editor’s Choice Award – offers hundreds of games you can play on Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, and your PC or mobile device via $20 a month. The subscription gives you access to a large library of games, with new titles – such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – added every month, as well as other benefits such as online multiplayer and offers on non-Game Pass titles.

Dead space

Return to USG Ishimura and battle the grotesque creatures lurking in this remake of the survival horror classic. You play the role of an engineer named Isaac Clarke, who responds to a distress signal from a ship. Your partner Nicole is on board, and after discovering that the crew has been murdered, you decide to find her and discover what happened. You can play this game with the lights on – I won’t tell.

MOOSE

Demons attacking a research facility on Mars are not the real threat in this game, only you are. You play as the Doom Slayer, a force of nature armed to the teeth with a chainsaw, rockets and plenty of powerful guns. Your mission is simple: tear and tear until it runs out, or until you need to take a snack break.

Resident Evil 2

Welcome back to Raccoon City; watch the blood and wound on the ground. This award-winning remake takes you back to the epicenter of the virus outbreak, with rookie cop Leon Kennedy starting his first day and college student Claire Redfield searching for her missing brother. Modern gameplay mechanics and graphics enhance the horror elements of this game and make it one of the best Resident Evil games yet again. So stock up on green herbs and ammunition – you’ll need them.

And if you manage to beat the game and want more zombie-killing goodness, you can also play the Resident Evil 3 remake on Game Pass.

State of decay 2

How will you survive the hordes of undead? Civilization fell when zombies began to rise from the dead, and it’s up to you to gather survivors, gather resources, and build a community from the ashes. You can play this game with up to three friends to see who can survive the zombie apocalypse the longest.
