Tia Mowry wants to “alter” her wedding dress after her split from Cory Hardrict

Mowry explains her reasons for keeping the dress in her confessional.

“It’s not that I’m not ready to part with my wedding dress, I just think I could completely change it,” she tells the cameras. “My wedding dress was priceless. The designer actually custom-made my wedding dress, and more dresses were made after the wedding.

Mowry and Harddict, 44, exchanged vows in 2008 after eight years together. Tia’s twin sister, Tamera Mowryshe served as her maid of honor. Tia and Hardrict then welcomed son Cree, 13, and daughter Cairo, 6, before announcing their separation in October 2022. The exes finalized their divorce in April 2023.

Tia spoke candidly about the ups and downs of life after divorce. In April, she shared a video with a voiceover on Instagram, in which she described “recovering from divorce” as a “believable journey.”

“During the process, I learned that divorce is not a place we arrive at, but a new chapter in life, full of many nuances and there is no one-size-fits-all manual,” she explained. “One moment you feel relieved, you feel like you have achieved something important, and then suddenly the emotions hit you again. This is an aspect of divorce that is not often discussed, especially when children are involved.”

The Sister, sister alum will share more of his experiences in Tia Mowry: My next actwhich will premiere on Friday, October 4. Announcing the series on Instagram in April, Tia said the series would document her “newly single status” as well as other “behind the scenes events” in her daily life.

“Recently divorced, for the first time in my life I am truly experiencing what life is like both personally and professionally,” she wrote in the caption.

Tia recently raised eyebrows in the trailer for the docuseries, saying she wished she and Tamera, 46, were “still close” because “being alone was the hardest part of her divorce.”

“(I wish) I could pick up the phone and call her, but that’s not where we’re at right now,” she said in the video, which aired last month.

Tia then clarified the comments, exclusively saying Us that she meant the physical distance between her and Tamera, not the severing of their bond.

“That’s basically what I was insinuating: I feel like as we grow up, we all start our own families and their children have to lean on them. We’re starting to take on new roles and responsibilities in life,” Tia said, noting that she and her sister are “still close” emotionally. “That was the point.”
