Here’s everything you need to know about the horrors (with hilarious commentary!) you can expect to see in the new show.

What is it? The scariest house in America ABOUT?

IN The scariest house in AmericaRetta tours nine creepy houses in the Midwest, Northeast and South. According to the press release, this includes “a former prison inhabited by bats, a supposed gangster hideout and a crumbling house giving off a witchy atmosphere.” But that’s not all! Some of these homes contain “built-in death traps,” “questionable taxidermy,” “intimidating basements,” and “ghost sightings.”

And yes, all these houses have owners. After Retta shared her hilarious thoughts on each home’s appearance, lack of functionality, and fear factor, HGTV is naming one of the homes the scariest of all. The owners of the winning home will receive a $150,000 renovation by interior designer and HGTV star Alison Victoria.

How can you watch?

Will there be a second season?

There is no information yet whether there will be a second season, especially since Retta herself is not a fan of scary situations. “I did not expect another installment of this program,” she said in a press release. She continued: “The holiday trip was fun and ugly for me, but for a girl who is afraid of every creak, creature and stray fur brushing my arm, it wasn’t it. I’m glad I went through it, but I won’t lie that I “enjoyed it.”
