Phillies fans and Alec Bohm’s parents celebrate Red October in Fishtown, Philadelphia: ‘It reminds me of 2008’

There’s Phillies fever in town.

“We are ready to rock and roll. Go see Phil,” one fan said.

The countdown lasts until The Phillies will face the Mets and fans couldn’t be more excited. They brought energy and spirit to Fishtown for the Red October rally.

“I am the principal of a Catholic school and that is why every day we pray for our team to win. Yes, it’s a superstition. Pray,” said Jayda Pugliese of South Philadelphia.

Dickie Noles says Mets-Phillies is always a good rivalry.

“What I like most about this team is the character of the players. They have great character, they all get along well and play well together,” said Dickie Noles.

Fans agree – there is something special about them that will take them to the World Series.

“I love everything. It reminds me of 2008,” a fan said at the rally.

“We always have great energy and what I really love about this team is that they really give the city a lot of hope and belief,” Pugliese said

Across the street from the Red October Rally bus at Frankford and Girard Avenue was a Phillies mural. And Alec Bohm’s parents loved it.

“It almost brings tears to my eyes. It’s amazing. They did a good job,” Lisa Bohm said.

Bohm’s parents say they are very proud of their son and can’t wait for the match.

“I won’t lie I’m a little nervous, but that’s typical of me. I’m very nervous,” Lisa Bohm said. “It’s so surreal. I have to remember to enjoy every moment.”

“It’s kind of unreal, going around so often and seeing his jersey in the stands, and the wow factor of traveling,” said Dan Bohm, Alex’s father.
