Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra on Saturday, during which he will launch several development initiatives worth over Rs 56,000 crore, officials said.

Modi will first visit Washim, where he will inaugurate the Banjara Virasat Museum, commemorating the rich heritage of the Banjara community, after offering prayers at the Jagdamba Mata temple in Poharadevi and paying homage at the ‘samadhi’ of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj, an official release said.

Later in the day, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth over Rs 32,800 crore in Thane.

In Mumbai, it will inaugurate the BKC to Aarey JVLR – 3 section of the Mumbai Metro line, costing around Rs 14,120 crore, and will also run a metro between BKC and Santacruz stations.

At 12 p.m., Modi will launch various initiatives related to agriculture and animal husbandry sector worth around Rs 23,300 crore in Washim.

In line with his commitment to empower farmers, Modi will disburse the 18th tranche of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi program worth around Rs 20,000 crore to around 94 million farmers at the Washim event, it said.

With this, the total funds made available to farmers under PM-KISAN will be around Rs 3.45 trillion. It will also launch the fifth installment of NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana and disburse Rs 2,000 crore, it said.

The Prime Minister will allocate over 7,500 projects worth Rs 1,920 crore to the nation under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF). Major projects include custom rental centers, primary processing units, warehouses, grading and grading units, cold storage projects, post-harvest management projects, etc.

It will contribute 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to the nation with a combined turnover of around Rs 1,300 crore.

In addition, the Prime Minister will introduce a unified genomic chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology. This initiative aims to increase the availability of sex-sorted semen at an affordable price to farmers and reduce the cost by about Rs 200 per dose.

A standardized genome chip, GAUCHIP for indigenous cattle and MAHISHCHIP for buffalo, has been developed along with genotyping services. As we read in the announcement, thanks to the implementation of genomic selection, young high-quality bulls will be able to be identified at an early age.

At 6:00 p.m., the metro scheduled from BKC to Aarey JVLR in the western part of the metropolis will be initiated at the BKC metro station. It will also travel between BKC and Santacruz metro stations, the release said.

Moreover, Prime Minister Modi will allocate five solar parks with a total capacity of 19 MW in Maharashtra under Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0.

The program will also honor the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, the release added.

It will lay the foundation stone of Phase 1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Impact Notified Area (NAINA) project worth around Rs 2,550 crore. The project includes the construction of main communication arteries, bridges, viaducts, underpasses and integrated utility infrastructure.

Maharashtra is heading to the polls and the Election Commission is expected to announce its schedule soon.
