Anne Hathaway confirmed The Princess Diaries 3 in her latest post, expressing her delight over the upcoming project.

It’s confirmed! The beloved Disney series “The Princess Diaries” has a third installment. Hours after director Adele Lim confirmed to a media outlet that The Princess Diaries 3 is in the works, Anne Hathaway posted on social media expressing her delight over the upcoming project. A post consisting of a video with the caption: “Miracles do happen. Return to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairy tale continues.”

The film opens with Anne Hathaway sitting comfortably in a chair in what appears to be a park. As she holds up one finger at a time, the clip cuts to a scene from the show where her character, upon hearing that she is the princess of Genovia, reacts by saying, “Shut up.” The clip then shows another scene with Julie Andrews, who also reacts similarly and says, “Shut up.” Julie played Anna’s on-screen grandmother in The Princess Diaries. The actress then raises three fingers and repeats the reaction. She also added Myra’s Miracles Happen (When You Believe) in the background.

Shortly after the video was posted, fans flooded the comments expressing their joy and excitement. The fan said: “I’m sitting. Honestly, I have never been more full!!!” “So wonderful that my heart can’t bear it!” added another. A fan also noted, “We need this. The best news of the whole year.”

Variety quotes Adele Lim, who has come on board to direct the project: “As a die-hard fan of the original The Princess Diaries, I am thrilled to be involved in creating the third installment of this beloved series. life. We can’t wait to celebrate the core pillars of women’s power, joy and mentorship with audiences around the world.”

The first two films in the series The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement were released in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Both films are currently available to stream on Disney+. Back in 2022, reports suggested that a third “The Princess Diaries” film was in the works, written by screenwriter Aadrita Mukerji. Aadrita is known for her work on Supergirl and Quantum Leap. Additionally, according to reports, Debra Martin Chase, the producer of the first two parts, will also return to finance the upcoming project.
