BIGBANG‘s members are reportedly set to reunite for a special performance at the 2024 MAMA Awards. Now, Mnet has reacted to the rumors.

BIGBANG to perform at 2024 MAMA Awards?

On October 5, South Korean media outlet News1 revealed that BIGBANG are in talks to reunite to perform at the 2024 MAMA Awards. The legendary group, that currently consists of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesunghad last performed at the MAMA Awards together in 2015.

Soon after the news surfaced online, MAMA Awards’ main organizers Mnet issued a statement. “The lineup of artists attending the 2024 MAMA Awards has not yet been,” they decided.

For the unversed, this year’s MAMA Awards will be taking place over three days in the United States and Japan. The first night of the MAMA Awards will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on November 21. Day 2 and 3 have been organized at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka on November 22 and 23.

About BIGBANGBIGBANG have been credited as one of the 2nd gen groups that popularized K-pop outside of South Korea. Formed by YG Entertainment, the legendary group made their debut in 2006 with their self-titled single album. Originally a five-piece, two members (Seungri and TOP) parted ways with the group. During their time as 5, the group release a bunch of hit songs like Bang Bang Bang, Fantastic Baby, Haru Haru, Last Dance, Loser and more.

While the remaining members haven’t discussed the possibility of a comeback as a trio, fans have been hoping that G-Dragon, Daesung and Taeyang release new music as BIGBANG in the future.
