Kansas City Chiefs use iconic Travis Kelce quote as Super Bowl champions celebrate tight end’s 35th birthday

Kansas City Chiefs use iconic Travis Kelce quote as Super Bowl champions celebrate tight end’s 35th birthday

The Kansas City Chiefs posted a quote from Travis Kelce’s speech after the team won the Super Bowl earlier this year to honor their tight end, who turns 35 on Saturday.

Kelce was one of the headliners of the February extravaganza due to his relationship with Taylor Swift.

The three-time Super Bowl champion has never been shy about sharing his opinions, and this particular one, expressed on stage at Allegiant Stadium, has become iconic.

“You don’t have to fight for your right to party today. HBD, @killatrav!” – Chiefs wrote on Instagram.

The Kelce quote itself is a shout-out to the Beastie Boys’ song “Fight for Your Right,” with the sharp end shouting it into the microphone.

Kelce made the comment moments after reuniting with Swift, who had rushed from Japan after a block of performances on her “Eras Tour” to watch the match in person.

Since her relationship with Kelce began last September, Swift has appeared in 15 Chiefs games, and Kansas City is 12-3 in those contests. That includes a 2-0 mark this season.

Swift may be in attendance at Monday’s game against the Saints, and Travis’ older brother, Jason Kelce, will be able to call into ESPN for the first time since retiring from football.

Swift actually attended all four of the Chiefs’ playoff games last season, all of which took place in different cities.

Monday’s game is actually in Kansas City, where both former Swifts have watched Chiefs games in person this season.

It’s unclear whether Kelce will have his girlfriend in the audience for his first game at age 35.
