Laura Woods apologizes after Tyson Fury made X-rated comments live on TNT Sports about his upcoming rematch with Oleksandr Ujsek

  • Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Uysk will fight on December 21 in Riyad in a rematch
  • Fury lost to Uysek by split decision in their first fight on May 18 this year
  • On Saturday evening, Fury witnessed Nick Ball defeat Ronny Rios in Liverpool

Tyson Fury was interviewed by TNT Sports during Saturday’s live coverage of the WBA featherweight title fight between Nick Ball and Ronny Rios.

Fury was at the event in Liverpool to watch his cousin Walter Fury fight Dale Arrowsmith.

After watching Walter win that fight, Tyson was invited to the TNT Sports studio to preview the main event, with Ball ultimately stopping Rios in round 10.

But Fury was also asked about his next fight. The 36-year-old is currently preparing for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated him by split decision in May.

It was Fury’s first defeat in his professional career, but he will have the opportunity to take revenge on December 21.

Fury sounded confident, but also used some rather colorful language, prompting TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods to apologize on air.

When asked by Woods if being older and wiser would change his style, Fury replied: “I’ve always been a bad guy my whole life and I still am at almost 40 years old.” A few years beyond 40, but I like to say it anyway, it sounds more like that.

“However, I will go in there in destruction mode. The last time I went to the box with him, I was careful. I punched him right in the head, let’s talk about the facts. Anyone can get caught, as we have seen in many heavyweight fights. But this time I’m not going to make a point decision. I’m going to knock the motherfucker out. I’m not even sure you can say that on TNT.

Boxing expert Steve Bunce replied, “I think you’ve already said that!”

Woods then chimed in and added, “It may be in the past, but I probably need to apologize to a few people who watched it if you were offended. It’s Tyson Fury though, so you might still get some of that.

Fury also apologized.

“I apologize for my behavior,” he began, then added: “If you don’t like it, change the channel!”
