After more than 25 years of marriage, Peter Reckell and his wife Kelly Moneymaker are still having the best days of their lives.

For over four decades, Reckell played the role of Bo Brady Days of our lives his on-screen relationship with Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Brady has always made headlines, and he’s been Moneymaker’s real-life husband since 1998.

The opera actor and creative media producer married in April 1998, and although social media wasn’t popular at the time, the couple is now vocal about their love on Instagram, X and Facebook.

Moneymaker is proud to be from Fairbanks, Alaska and often honors her homeland on social media. Although Moneymaker has moved around throughout her life, in February 2024 she confirmed that she was once again an Alaskan.

“Today I appreciate the beauty of my homeland,” she wrote under a photo of shining snow. “The sun reflects on the crystalline snow, illuminating the natural wonders of the last frontier. I’m grateful to be from here and to be able to live here again.”

Moneymaker attended Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in creative media production and a master’s degree in creative entrepreneurship, according to a biography on her website.

Moneymaker’s research focused on “Indigenous creative technology research frameworks and methodologies.”

“Kelly’s multicultural roots inspired her passion for Native storytelling and environmental protection, which led her to direct the award-winning documentary VAKA,” her biography reads. “The student short film premiered at UNFCCC COP25 in Madrid, representing the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and the Tokelau Ministry of Climate, Ocean Resilience and Environment (MiCORE).”

The documentary won several awards, including Best Documentary Short at the Toronto International Women’s Film Festival and Best Student Director and Best Sound at the New York Indie Shorts. In addition to her work as a producer, Moneymaker has been a professional singer since the age of 14. Moneymaker used her expertise to write and co-produce the soundtrack album for Days of our lives.

Reckell and Moneymaker were married on April 18, 1998.

Although not many details are known about their big day, they seem to be just as in love after all these years as they were on that April day.

The couple, especially Moneymaker since she is more active on social media, often share heartfelt anniversary posts. As a tribute on their 24th wedding anniversary, Moneymaker shared side-by-side photos from the wedding and the day.

In the photo, Moneymaker can be seen wearing a simple white wedding dress, strappy high heels and carrying a bouquet of white, pink and yellow flowers.

Moneymaker and Reckell welcomed their only child, a daughter named Loden, in October 2007. She weighed 6 pounds and 9 ounces. PEOPLE confirmed the happy news almost five months after announcing that the two were expecting a baby.

The duo has remained private when it comes to their daughter over the years, but in 2019, Reckell shared a photo of Loden on Twitter. Although her face is not visible, it shows Loden hugging a mascot dressed as a tree.

“My little ecologist had to stop and hug a tree during the Student Climate Change March,” he wrote.

After stepping back from the role of Bo full-time, Reckell embraced fatherhood.
