Summary of the plot of the game Assassin

Joe Flood is an experienced contract killer with a long history of successful assassinations. While on a mission in Budapest, Hungary, he kills an important personage at the opera, briefly meeting the stunning ballet dancer Maize. While leaving the facility, he is attacked by a headache that leaves him momentarily stunned. Shooting breaks out at the opera house and Joe helps a terrified Maize escape the building. After a short interaction, he accidentally ends up in her phone, which he plans to return the next day. His guardian, Zvi, meets with him and recommends that he check his brain for the strange headaches he seems to be experiencing. However, he had already taken test scans before showing up to meet him.

The next day, Joe returns Maize’s phone to her at her local ballet studio. After a short, awkward conversation, Maize gives him her phone number, giving signs that she’s really attracted to him. The heroine decides to ignore it and throws her phone number into a nearby trash can. After some further thought, he returns to it and picks it up, intending to try it. The two begin an affair and soon fall in love. The only caveat in their close bond is Joe’s reluctance to share the truth about his true profession. Zvi advises him at a couples party that he should trust her first and think about the consequences later. Unfortunately, the situation becomes more complicated when the results of Joe’s medical tests bring tragic news.

The main character is diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, a degenerative disease that affects his motor functions. His doctor, Dr. Kagen, recommends that he retire immediately and begin palliative care. Unwilling to succumb to the cold clutches of the disease, Joe takes matters into his own hands by ordering a contract killing. This way he will be able to withdraw the life insurance money after his death and leave it to Maize. He asks Zvi to do it, but the guide refuses because he cares too much about him. With few options, the hero turns to Marianne Antoinette, a rival who hates him for killing her father. He gladly obliges and gives the order to kill. However, there is a twist when the doctor tells Joe that he is not sick and that there was a mistake in the reports.

Killer’s Game Ending: How will Joe survive the attack in the church?

After Dr. Kagen’s mistake, Joe must fight numerous groups of strange assassins, each with their own specialization. The persistent headaches he was suffering from turn out to be just a simple neck pain that goes away after a short massage session with Zvi’s wife. The killer then tries to break the contract by talking to Marianna, but she is too determined to take revenge. Instead, the vengeful lady calls in even more assassins to take him down. Most are killed in the pursuit, and the remainder follow him to the church, where he and Maize seek refuge after a mass clash at Schatzberger Castle. In the church, the couple almost tie the knot of their relationship. The impromptu marriage is interrupted by Lovedahl, a friend of Joe’s killer, who shoots the pastor, leading to another fight.

During the church brawl, Marianna’s right-hand man, Max, shows up with his crew of mercenaries. Although he is tasked with killing Joe, he also begins shooting at Lovedahl because the assassin’s requested fee exceeds the amount Marianna is willing to pay. So Max decides to kill both Lovedahl and Joe in one fight – a typical “two birds with one stone” mentality. This proves to be his undoing, as Lovedahl kills several of his men and distracts him from Joe for most of the fight. Eventually, Max manages to gain the upper hand, defeating them both with his weapon. The victory proves to be short-lived, as Maize appears out of nowhere and blows his head off with a shotgun, thus ending his threat. The romantic duo then leave Lovedahl alone in the church while they complete their escape.

Why does Zvi kill Marianne Antoinette?

Throughout the narrative, Marianna proves to be a stubborn antagonist, too emotionally invested in the fact that Joe killed her father. Her dreams come true when Joe appears at the beginning of the film, asking to be taken away of his own free will. For Marianna, this is the perfect opportunity to balance the scales of justice and get rid of the man she has always held a grudge against. Unfortunately, her stubbornness and desperation blind her to the repeated failures she faces in trying to get rid of Joe. The situation becomes even worse when he breaks the assassin’s code and allows his bodyguard Max to bring in his crew of mercenaries to kill the main character. Since this is against the code of conduct, Zvi kills her at the end of the film with a shot to the head.

The irony of Marianna’s death is that she repeats the same mistakes that led to her father’s death. Even Joe tells her on the phone that his death was actually justified because he wasn’t the honorable person she thought he was. He also broke the rules of fighting between mercenaries and assassins and was defeated by the main character. The tragedy of her character is that she distances herself from his faults and learns nothing from his actions. She also decides to ignore Joe’s request to cancel the contract, which is another rule-breaking behavior that throws her into the deep end. Given the number of casualties suffered throughout the narrative due to her callous attitude, it seems fitting that she herself was eliminated. This also means that Joe is free from the burden of fighting more assassins.

Will Joe and Maize end up together? Will he leave behind the life of an assassin?

At the end of the film, Joe and Maize manage to end the marriage that Lovedahl had previously ended in the final battle. The couple is clearly in love with each other, with their only flaw being Joe’s lack of communication and trust. The main character’s indecision regarding his profession as an assassin causes a rift between them. After years of working alone, she is simply afraid to reveal what she does because it might scare her away. However, he overcomes the obstacle and manages to accept himself as he is, gaining her approval. Additionally, Maize reveals that she is pregnant, which is another reason why they begin their married life and seek happiness in each other’s presence. This change will prove to be a big change for Joe, but he’s excited about it.

Although the couple decides that retirement is the best option for Joe given that he will soon be married to Maize, it is not a black and white topic. As the couple walks towards their wedding car, they talk about the financial burdens that may fall on them once they start a family. Maize suggests that perhaps Joe could consider retiring, as continuing as an assassin could mean the financial stability they need in the long run. Therefore, it is likely that Joe’s adventures have only stopped for a while and may resume as soon as the honeymoon ends. A potential sequel could explore these great action stories in the future.
