Lonely Island’s New Song ‘Sushi Glory Hole’ Premieres on ‘SNL’; He raps about secret sushi places around New York

In the first Lonely Island song from the 50th season of “SNL,” the beloved trio of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer debuted “Sushi Glory Hole,” a humorous version of the fictional app where you can find sushi in a hole in your bathroom in the New York City area.

Maya Rudolph, an “SNL” alum who played the role of presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in the new season, was present at the film. “Lord, what do you have for us today?” she asked in the video opener.

“Sushi glory hole,” Samberg rapped. “Imagine this. Instead of getting weird (expletive), you’ll get a snack. A long chorus of “Hear us, hear us, hear us” played on a loop as the trio tried to convince others of their idea.

Members of Lonely Island and Bowen Yang dressed as ’80s businessmen and rapped about sushi in bathrooms with suggestive lyrics, singing, “So get down on your knees and get ready for the fish.” The digital short film featured playful, evocative images of sushi slices presented through holes in bathroom walls. The trio rapped, “Hit the bathroom stall and find a sushi-sized hole in the bathroom wall.”

“Get on the map,” they said, showing a phone with a highlighted map of “SGH” locations throughout Manhattan where you can find the sushi glory hole. They rapped on, defending their unconventional food business idea, saying, “You have nothing to be afraid of. It’s not weird. It’s sushi coming through a hole in the wall.”

They rapped about various ideal conditions for “SGH”. Samberg sang about sushi holes in nightclubs and how it was better than eating in the middle of the street. “Make a wish and get ready for shockingly high-quality fish.”

“Don’t go, listen to us. No substitutions or special requests,” they said.

The guest of this episode was stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze, and the musical guest was the musical group Coldplay.
