BEHIND THE SCENES: with Sigma Sports in Hampton Wick | Local functions | News | Teddington Nub News

Founded by two best friends in 1992, Sigma Sports, the premium bicycle retailer of Sigma Sports, has gone from strength to strength, with its success thanks to the passionate people behind the brand.

Steeped in cycling heritage, Sigma Sports has two state-of-the-art stores, in Hampton Wick and Oakham, as well as a huge online presence and is now an established hub for the cycling community.

More than just a bike shop, Sigma Sports offers state-of-the-art workshops, fitted bikes and unrivaled service.

As a result, Teddington Nub News conducted an investigation into what goes on behind the scenes at Sigma Sports.

When you walk into the Hampton Wick store you might think it’s just another fancy bike shop, but with its four floors being used for a variety of purposes including selling bikes and cycling equipment, bike repairs and bike fittings, you’ll find that Sigma Sports Really Is more than just a bike shop.

The ground floor and first floor are commercial spaces, the second and third floors are a compromise between workshops and consultation rooms.

On the ground floor you’ll find a range of sleek new bikes for sale, and with the shop’s pristine interior you might be shocked to find outdoor transport equipment that’s about to get a little dirty.

In addition to buying new bikes, you can also buy bike parts such as grips and bike hardware.

You can also use the Feetbox device designed to measure your foot size.

On the first floor you’ll find another extensive collection of cycling equipment for sale, including clothing and helmets, as well as more bikes.

The magic happens on the third floor, because this is where bikes are repaired and fitted.

Consisting of a Bike Fit Room and a workshop, I was amazed at the effort and work that went into repairing and building bikes.

In the Bike Fit Room there is a machine with two blue pads that are used to take impressions to form individual inserts.

On the top floor there is a consultation room and fitting room, where sizing is also done and where the bikes are handed over to customers after the bikes are built for them.
