MLB Playoffs Scores, Live Updates: Mets vs. Phillies, Padres vs. Dodgers is NLDS Game 2

The National League Division Series resumes on Sunday, with the Phillies looking to tie their series with the Mets and the Padres looking to tie their series with the Dodgers. In Saturday’s Game 1, Shohei Ohtani did everything Shohei Ohtani did in his postseason debut and led the Dodgers to a 7-5 victory, while the Mets overcame the Phillies bullpen late in the game to win 6-2.

    Mets lead 3-0 in the top of the sixth quarter thanks to Alonso.

    After five innings, Philadelphia has just three hits and no runs.

    With Harper’s more solid defense, he and the Phillies will emerge from the top of the fifth inning unscathed.

  • The Mets are 1-2-3 after the fourth inning

    Christopher Sanchez has his second 1-2-3 inning in the top of the 4th. After J.D. Martinez was eliminated, Sanchez defeated Starling Marte and Francisco Alvarez to end the round.

  • Starling Marte’s error almost led to a run for the Phillies

    Play the “Yakety Sax” music during the third round sequence.

    Kyle Schwarber flew to right field and Starling Marte tried to double Johan Rojas, returning to first base. However, an errant throw allowed Rojas to take second place. He advanced to third on a stolen base, but was stranded when Trea Turner struck out.

    We start the fourth inning and the Mets are leading 2-0.

    The Mets strike first with two runs in the third inning. Francisco Lindor hits a single with one out and Mark Vientos follows him with a long fly ball over the right field fence for a 2–0 Mets lead.

    Luis Severino throws a 1-2-3 second round, hitting Bryson Stott and JT Realmuto, before Brandon Marsh jumps out for a foul.

    The Phillies started the second inning with an error by Edmundo Sosa. However, Bryson Stott made a jump ball to second base on the first out, and on the third out, Bryce Harper stopped on Francisco Alvarez’s line drive.

  • Edmundo Sosa made a throwing error on 3B

    Time will tell if Edmundo Sosa will hit third base more often than Alec Bohm. However, Sosa makes a mistake by throwing the ball after Jose Iglesias. Iglesias takes second place after an errant throw.

    Trea Turner scores a one-out single for the Phillies and then steals second and third base. However, Luis Severino strikes out Bryce Harper and forces Nick Castellanos to line up at first base, ending the first inning.

    Mark Vientos scores a double for the Mets and advances to third base on Brandon Nimmo’s flyout. However, Christopher Sanchez forces Pete Alonso to throw out to midfield and finish the first inning on top.
