Kourtney Kardashian’s Halloween decorations are controversial

Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Travis Barker often make headlines, and this spooky season, their Halloween decorations are the latest item to spark conversation. Known for uncompromising public displays of affection, the couple’s holiday arrangement is equally bold and equally divisive.

On Friday, October 4, Kourtney showed her Instagram followers what her fall celebrations look like in a series of photos titled “Hello October.”

The slide show started innocently enough, with Kardashians star pushing a stroller – presumably carrying her and Travis’ 10-month-old son, Rocky Thirteen. The seasonal spirit continued to build with shots of pumpkins lining the grand outdoor steps and hot apple cider brewing on the stove.

But it wasn’t long before attention turned to a more adventurous aspect of her holiday decor: two inflatable skeletons placed in a rather suggestive position. One skeleton was seen straddling the other as they pressed their skulls together in a romantic, yet eerie embrace.

While some fans found the skeleton setup hilarious and very on-brand for the couple, others were less amused.

Comments poured in, with one user exclaiming: “That skeleton pose? Really?” Another fan added: “As a mother of four, I think it’s disgusting that you would do this to these inflatables.”

Some even wondered how Kourtney’s children might feel about such a provocative display. Despite the backlash, many followers defended the show, calling it a lighthearted extension of Kourtney and Travis’ well-known, fun style. One fan joked, “Someone in my neighborhood had this inflatable and I drove up and literally said, ‘It looks like something Kourtney and Travis would have in their backyard.'”

Of course, this isn’t the first time the couple has embraced Halloween in an extreme way. In 2022, they hosted a Michael Myers-inspired party where they shared snapshots of their radically transformed home. Tall, 5-foot skeletons greeted guests at the entrance, and pumpkins lined the way to the party.

However, it wasn’t the pumpkins that caused controversy – it was the graphic, bloody decorations scattered throughout the house.

One exhibition showed severed limbs and life-size models of dead women lying face down in disturbing positions, which was quickly criticized by fans.

Many viewers took to social media to share their discomfort with the decorations. “Even though I love horror movies and scary stuff, this movie is a little too realistic and brutal for no reason lol, it gives me bad vibes,” one commenter wrote. Others were quick to point out the disturbing image of the women, with one fan asking: “Why do they have to be dead women? It’s not decorative; It’s just disturbing.”

Despite the confusion, Kourtney and Travis seem unfazed, continuing to share their love of Halloween and passion for giving it their all, whether through elaborate costumes or quirky decorations.

Kourtney and Travis continue to celebrate the spooky season in their typically over-the-top way, but the backlash hasn’t slowed them down. You can love them or hate them. There’s no denying that Kravis knows how to make a statement, whether it’s for Halloween decorations or public displays of affection. And with Halloween just around the corner, fans can only wonder what tricks (or treats) the couple has in store next.
