Alia Bhatt’s Jigra will release on October 11.

Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina are set to impress the audience with their action-packed film Jigra, which has quickly become one of the most talked about films since its announcement. Alia Bhatt is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the film, be it by making fashion statements or appearing in many shows to promote the film.

Alia Bhatt recently achieved major fashion goals by stepping out in a corset top paired with a black blazer and baggy pants. Alia turned heads as she showed off her outfit. Watch the video here:

Meanwhile, ahead of its big screen release on October 11, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given Jigra a U/A rating. The film’s production time was also revealed. According to the CBFC website, Jigra has received U/A certification and is operational for 155 minutes. This means that the film is 2 hours and 35 minutes long. The film’s leading lady is Alia Bhatt, who is co-producing this directorial venture by Vasan Bali along with Karan Johar.

In the upcoming film, Alia and Vedang play the role of siblings and their chemistry is already gaining appreciation from the audience. The trailer begins with Alia Bhatt’s character receiving a late-night call informing her that her brother Ankur (played by Vedang Raina) has been arrested. Confused and worried, she asks him if he did something wrong and if his blood tests will come back clean. Ankur is then seen in a courtroom in a foreign country, unable to understand the language as he is arrested.

Determined to save her brother, Alia embarks on a mission, desperate to meet him. She asks if harming herself would force the authorities to allow her to visit, but she has been repeatedly denied access. We watch as he travels to the country where he is held captive and begins the fight to free him. The trailer opens with intense action with Alia performing daring stunts, evading guards and taking extreme measures to save her brother who is being tortured in prison. Even though he encounters obstacles at every step, he does not give up.

In an earlier interview with The Indian Express, Alia Bhatt shared the reason why she chose Jigra, where she is on a mission to free her brother (Vedang Raina) who is in a foreign jail. She said, “When Jigra came to me, I was going through the most tigress, protective phase. Maybe that’s why I’m crazy about this material. This really spoke to me. Maybe he would have spoken to me earlier, but he spoke to me completely differently. It struck a different chord. Maybe something else had to come out of it. I can’t measure it or shape it, but motherhood really does make a difference.”
