SEGA announces that Alien: Isolation will officially receive a sequel

Out of nowhere, as the game turns 10, Creative Assembly and SEGA announced that Alien: Isolation will officially be getting a sequel. The 2014 horror title has become a real fan favorite over the years, and gamers will no doubt be delighted with this announcement.

Taking to social media, the first game’s creative director, Al Hope, shared a message with Alien: Isolation fans as the sequel was officially greenlit. Here is the full text of this statement:

“To our fans around the world: it’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since we began our journey with the release of ALIEN: ISOLATION.”

“When we began work on ALIEN: ISOLATION, we had one guiding principle: to create a truly authentic experience that goes back to the roots of the ALIEN franchise – a new story that captures the atmosphere and horror of the original 1979 film masterpiece.

It has been simply amazing to witness my passion for the game over the years and see it reach so many players around the world.

On your 10th anniversary, it seems appropriate to let you know that we heard your cries for help loud and clear.

Today, I’m happy to confirm on behalf of the team that the sequel to ALIEN: ISOLATION is in early development. We look forward to sharing more details with you when we are ready.

Thank you again.

Until next time, Al Hope, Creative Director – ALIEN: ISOLATION”

As you can see, this is an early stage announcement and as such there is nothing better than a launch window or target platforms ready to be showcased here. What we do know is that the original teams are working on a sequel to Alien: Isolation, which is fantastic news for us!

Back in the day – yes, we can say that about this game now – Pure Xbox got Alien: Isolation an 8/10 – We definitely enjoyed this take on the Alien franchise in 2014 and can’t wait to see where the series goes next.
