Stephanie Grisham tells us that Melania’s behavior behind the scenes is worthy of the Trump name

In her memoir titled “Melania,” former first lady Melania Trump revealed the vast rift between her and her husband, former president and current GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump. Amid the disagreements, her pro-choice stance on abortion differs significantly from her husband’s, and she forced him to end immigration policies that separated immigrant families.

Although she revealed some conflicting views in her memoir, Melania stated that the couple generally tried to keep their relationship private. “Part of our relationship was occasional political disagreements between me and my husband,” Melania wrote. “But I believed in addressing them privately rather than challenging him publicly. I believe our discussions are more productive when we can have a quiet dialogue at home, out of the public eye.”

Recent insights provided by former White House chief of staff and press secretary Stephanie Grisham show that Melania may still be quite similar to her husband, despite their visible differences. Speaking exclusively to The List, Grisham said some might be surprised by how closely Melania and Donald’s personalities are similar. “She is a lot more like her husband than people realize,” she said.

Melania Trump is acting on her own

Melania Trump once caused controversy when she was seen wearing a very inappropriate outfit – a jacket with the words “I really don’t care or do you care?” on her back – during a trip to the New Hope Children’s Shelter in June 2018. Although her spokeswoman said there was no subliminal meaning behind it, Melania later blamed Stephanie Grisham for not allowing her to honestly explain the coat’s message, which she believed was a media rebuttal – a claim that later made Grisham laugh.

Grisham’s take on the jacket differs significantly from that of Donald Trump, who tweeted that Melania’s jacket was aimed at the “fake news media.” Grisham, who told The List that Melania speaks for herself, stated that she was shocked by Melania’s silence when Trump chose to mark the coat as a statement critical of the media. “We told the press that this Navy doesn’t make any difference and they were called into the Oval Office,” she said. “When he told her he was tweeting it was for the media, she was silent, which shocked me,” Grisham said. “As we were leaving (the Oval Office), he shouted, ‘I saved you from that.'”

Grisham stated that, like her husband, Melania is willing to take advantage of Trump’s campaign and has allegedly adopted the practice of profiting from his supporters. “The whole family always did this,” she said. “I think she probably saw that Trump supporters would basically buy everything he sold, so she jumped at the opportunity.” This behavior was seen on Melania’s website, which sells expensive souvenirs including an American Christmas ornament for $90, jewelry ranging from $245 to $600 and a collector’s edition of her memoirs priced at $250.
