Apple ( AAPL ) Mac Mini size shrinks in first overhaul of device since 2010

Apple Inc. overhauled the design of its Mac mini desktop computer for the first time in about 15 years, reducing the size of the device to just 5 inches across and adding faster M4 chips.

The new models are less than half the size of the previous Mac mini design — introduced in 2010 by then-CEO Steve Jobs — making them closer to the dimensions of an Apple TV set-top box. In addition to the new chassis, which is 2 inches tall, the computers will run M4 and M4 Pro processors, which are part of a wave of Mac upgrades that include that generation of chips.
