China: Did Tim Walz push a Chinese Communist Party official’s daughter to the brink of suicide during a love affair in the 1980s? Here is the truth

During their turbulent romance in the 1980s, Tim Walz is accused of driving the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official to the brink of suicide.

According to The New York Post, Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, had a turbulent romantic relationship with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official while she was working as a teacher in Foshan, which nearly drove her to suicide.

In a phone interview with The Post on Monday, Jenna Wang, 59, revealed that she fell deeply in love with the current governor of Minnesota when he was a young English teacher at a high school in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China.

Wang thought that the intense relationship in 1989 would end in a courtship, but instead it ended in a breakup that made her think about ending her own life.

Explaining that Walz had hinted that he planned to marry her, Wang said she was deeply offended and hurt and had to leave because many people knew we had a relationship.

She said that after returning to the United States the following summer, she wrote to Wang and even asked for a passport photo of herself to be sent back to Denver, suggesting that Walz helped her obtain a visa, which quoted in a report by the New York Post.

His lack of character as a man, a responsible person who had experience in the military or education, she thought he loved her too.

Wang, who wrote an open letter warning American voters about Walz, claimed they were like husband and wife at first, sharing tea and holding hands in private. Walz arrived in China through the nonprofit organization WorldTeach, and the two connected while Wang was teaching at a nearby middle school.

Walz showered Wang with gifts, including gold jewelry and high-waisted blue jeans. However, Wang’s open letter also revealed that Walz became the type of man a mother warns her daughter not to get involved with. She believed the marriage was what Walz had led her to believe, as well as others.

Wang and Walz disagreed about whether she really loved Walz or just wanted to get a visa. Wang felt cheap and ordinary, like she was being treated like a prostitute. They never met again, but Walz returned to China in 1993 as head of an annual summer student program that connects high school students in Nebraska and Minnesota with Chinese institutions.
