  • Buy from reliable suppliers by using websites such as VerifiedTicketSource.com to verify registered ticket sellers. USAA says Ticketmaster and StubHub guarantee against fraudulent ads.
  • When possible, use protected payment methods like a credit card. Payments made by cash, Zelle or bank transfers can be difficult to recover.
  • Check for a refund policy and be wary of listings that are unclear about the terms of the transaction.
  • Beware of phishing scams and suspicious links in texts or emails that can add malware to your device and allow fraudsters to track your online activity.
  • If you are purchase of tickets on Facebookcheck to see how recently the account was created. It’s a red flag if the page was created within the last month or has very few posts.
  • Finally, if the price is too good to be truethat’s enough. Don’t let scammers use a sense of urgency to lure you into a bad deal.

To report possible fraud, contact your bank immediately and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
