Another record possible Tuesday with rain developing into Wednesday

Record highs are possible again Tuesday for southern Minnesota. Showers will develop in northern Minnesota and expand across the state into Wednesday.

Record heat again on Tuesday with rain on the way, maybe some snow on Thursday

Several areas of the state reached or broke record high temperatures Monday. It will likely happen again Tuesday in southern Minnesota. If we hit 80 in the Twin Cities, it will be one of the latest 80-degree readings on record.

Precipitation appears to be heaviest in southeastern Minnesota and the North Shore of western Wisconsin.

It still looks like southwest Minnesota into the Twin Cities could be “dry-castled” from this system as drier air is sucked into the southwest side of the lowlands. That could limit the amount of precipitation in the Twin Cities area.
