Fire leaves Tarrytown Restaurant ‘significantly damaged’, causes busy road closure

The fire happened on Tuesday morning, October 29, when a fire broke out in a building that houses Tarry Tavern at 27 Main St. in Tarrytown, according to village officials.

The fire was eventually extinguished without damage thanks to the efforts of the Tarrytown Fire Department and several other agencies from the area, officials said.

According to the village, the entire building suffered “significant damage” but the fire was prevented from spreading to surrounding structures.

Main Street is now closed between Kaldenberg Place and Washington Street.

Officials have not released the cause of the fire.
