Dancing with the Stars Results: Updated Scores for Ilona Maher, Danny Amendola and More from 2024 DWTS Episode 6

This year’s “Dancing with the Stars” athlete contestants scored across the board last Tuesday for their “Dedication Night” performances.

Former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola was awarded the highest score of the night for his contemporary track honoring the late NFL and college coach Mike Leach, while NBA retiree Dwight Howard tied for the bottom with the only score under 30 points for his rumba, dedicated to his five children.

This week, Amendola, Howard, rugby star Ilona Maher and gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik appeared to be up for one more night. This time the theme was “Disney Night” which saw each remaining couple dance to a different song from a classic Disney film.

In addition, Episode 6 marked the return of team dances along with individual routines. All participants and their partners were divided into two groups, which met for extra points. Captains of each team are usually determined by the two dancers with the lowest scores from the previous week – in this case it ended up being Howard and Maher.

After working out their pairs, each group performed a unique number to a different Disney tune. The panel of judges then scored the dances, with each star receiving the same score to be combined with their individual scores from the night.

On Tuesday night, Amendola and Maher danced jazz numbers to “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC from “Deadpool & Wolverine” (2024) and “Surface Pressure” by Jessica Darrow from “Encanto” (2021), respectively. Howard tangoed to “When Can I See You Again” by Owl City from “Wreck-It Ralph” (2012), while Nedoroscik did the Charleston to “A Star is Born” by Jocelyn Brown from “Hercules” (1997).

Here’s everything to know about 2024 Dancing with the Stars Episode 6, including updated scores for Maher, Amendola and more.

Who was eliminated on Dancing with the Stars?

  • Section 2: Anna Delvey and Tori Spelling
  • Section 4: Reginald VelJohnson and Eric Roberts
  • Section 5: Brooks Nader
  • Section 6: Phaedra Parks

Brooks Nader was the dancer on the chopping block last Tuesday as she saw her dreams of DWTS glory dashed after being voted off.

In this week’s episode, Phaedra Parks was eliminated.

How does the Dancing with the Stars scoring work?

The show’s scoring is divided into two categories: judges and audience. During the episode, the three judges each give the dancers a score from 1 to 10.

This season, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli return as judges. Before the audience votes, the judges give the dancers a maximum of 30 points. There are some guest judge appearances and their votes are also out of 10. When a guest judge is included, the maximum score goes up to 40.

This is where the scoring can get confusing. It’s not exactly the number of points a dance gets, but how that number compares to the total number of votes the judges gave. Let’s say the judges award 100 points throughout the round; dancer A gets 10 and dancer B gets 20. Before the audience’s votes are tallied, dancer A will have 10 percent of the judges’ votes and dancer B will have 20 percent.

Let’s say Dancer A received 35 percent of the public vote, while Dancer B received only 5 percent. Dancer A’s final score would be 45 percent of the vote, and Dancer B would have received 40 percent. In this example, Dancer A would advance and Dancer B would be eliminated.

Scoring is the percentage of judges’ votes added to the percentage of audience votes for an overall score.
