Catawba College ends up sheltering at the site

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) – The shelter in place order at Catawba College has ended.

The alert was sent out on Tuesday afternoon. According to Salisbury police, they received a call about possible shots fired about three blocks away from the college.

Catawba and other schools in the area were placed on a precautionary lockdown.

“Stay where you are for now,” the warning read in part. It was canceled about half an hour later.

The story continues below.

All lockdowns have been lifted and so far officers said they have found no injuries or property damage related to a shooting.
